November 2007 ~ Tunnel vision
The new Lewisham Gateway "Low H" road layout, approved in October by Lewisham's Strategic Planning Committee, will force this stretch of the River Ravensbourne into a tunnel beneath it and obliterate Charlottenburg Gardens, through which it currently flows.
QWAG's alternative vision for the Lewisham Gateway site proposed naturalising the river and regrading its banks, integrating it into a revitalised open space and linking it with the similar scheme just completed upstream in Cornmill Gardens.
