June 2008 ~ Going loopy in Ladywell
A Fun Day was held in Ladywell Fields on May 10th, celebrating the completion of the second phase of the QUERCUS (Quality Urban Environments for River Corridor Users and Stakeholders) project. (The first phase - the creation of Cornmill Gardens - was completed in 2007.)
The River Ravensbourne now flows in a new channel which meanders its way through the northernmost field. On an extremely hot day paddling in the water was a common activity, although these youngsters were more concerned about the progress of their paper boats as they drifted downstream.
